Sneak Peek Inspiration and Chance to Win a Class

I have a few announcements to make.  That's what happens when you have too many things going on all in one week! lol

First I have a new product up today in the shop and on sale too.

These are my fav brushes I reach for when I am creating layouts and designing papers.  I will be teaching how to make these in my upcoming Digital Designer Studio class but may give a little peek into the process of how to color these artsy in my upcoming Building Color Confidence class that starts Sept 17th.

And speaking of the Color Challenge… us SAS Designers loved these so much we decided to use them for this month's Color Play 2 kits being released late Tuesday.  Want a little peek?!  Of course you do! lol

I made a few layouts over the weekend.  YEAH ME!  It's rare I have the time lately to do some layouts, so I was a very very happy camper. :)

First I made a very traditional layout of my Miss Bailey learning she had a built in musical instrument… her vocal cords! lol  Gotta luv it!

 And then I decided to do an artsy layout when a friend asked me what the difference is between my Traditional and Artsy layouts, at least according to me! lol  To me, it's the blending and my scribbles in this one.  I LOVE both styles and now have to choose when one to put into my books.  Hmmm maybe one into Miss Bailey's book and one into my own book. 

Then I couldn't stop playing with my kits so I made two more.  These photos are from when Kara was puppy sitting for the animal shelter one weekend.  Bailey and her got quite attached to those puppies, but happy to report, they all found good homes thanks to volunteers like my Kara.

Here in these I made the left page more of a traditional layout style, and then the right page is more artsy.  With the common background paper, they still go very well together.

I also used a Sewn Flower from FYA Imagine 

and artsy loop from my Beautiful Mess 4 kit that I recolored white.

And watch for later this week where I hope to have a a couple little videos of these pages and my process how I created them!  I hope to have ready for you tomorrow.

New Release FYA Imagine

So I was talked into doing some bright colors for this month's Follow Your Art collab with Angie and Lynne.  I will admit, this was a little out of my comfort zone, but I primed up for it by playing in the art studio with Miss Bailey's paints. :D

At first I wasn't thrilled with how it was coming out, but the more I look at the papers and pieces, I have so many ideas what to do with this now. Yeah!

This is very much like I art journal in real life.  I even put in some text paths like I do journaling.  I like to sometimes do my journaling in shapes and even paint over them to layering and layering.  It's good therapy. :)  I hope to have some page inspirations for you very soon.
But for now, CTM Angela did this REALLY FUN page by creating her own shapes and using the papers to color them.  Adorable Angela! Just love the monster on the top with the upside down flowers too. :)

When I scrapped all paper long ago, I loved getting all artsy on my backgrounds to ground and matte my photos and add inspirational script writing that was faint, but gave an artsy effect too.  Of course, I did this with real inks and paints... but now you can do it too with my digital Scribbles and Scripts!

Here is a layout I made using my latest mini kit Scribbles & Scripts along with my Follow Your Art - Hope - Bundle. And of course, my favorite little smiling face Miss Bailey as she was telling me she was ready to play in the Art Studio! Her enthusiasm and love for playing in art never ceases to amaze me! LO for my daughter on finding STRENGTH with New art

Hi everyone!

I know I've been ultra quiet these past few weeks.  Sorry!  We've had some rough times here in our family along with my first of two upper jaw surgeries, but I'm happy to report that all is well now and like everything else difficult in life, this too has passed.  We grieved, we supported each other, we got STRONGER!

The timing of all this was uncanny... as I had already been working on our newest FYA collab Strength.  This kit hit home with me and my daughter Kallie as I was creating.  I will not go into details, as I am not one to put personal emotions out there, but I will say... I found the strength somehow to be strong for her and I was in awe of her own inner strength she found in herself.  

I do what to thank all of those who sent all the beautiful and positive thoughts and sentiments! It was very heart warming and the love was definitely felt from all. 

I created a layout to remind her and I of how strong we really are and how strong she can be... but also how much strength we can find and give to each other in times of sorrow or weakness. This is my Kal... I love her bunches and am so proud of the woman she has become today!
