Hello, and welcome to this week's Manic Monday Photoshop Tips!
Last Monday I shared my 12 favorite basic keyboard shortcuts and this week we're going to kick it up a notch with 10 intermediate shortcut commands.
- [ Decrease Brush Size: Quickly decrease your brush size to get into those tighter spots.
- ] Increase Brush Size: Quickly increase your brush size for the larger areas.
- Ctrl + D -- Deselect: Deselects anything that is selected.
- Ctrl+Shift+N -- New Layer: Creates a new layer.
- Ctrl+J -- New Layer via Copy: Creates a new layer that is the copy of the selected layer (or selection) you have selected in the layer palette.
- Ctrl+Shift+S -- Save As: Access the save as function.
- Ctrl+S -- Save: Access the save function this allows you to quickly save your work as you progress.
- Alt + [ or ] -- To select a different layer
- Alt + . (period) -- To select top layer
- Alt + , (comma) -- To select bottom layer
I hope you're learning something new and putting these shortcuts to use in your daily workflow. The last three commands are new to me and I’m looking forward to introducing them into my routine today.

I learned something new from this! And here I thought I was the shortcut queen! LOL Those last three are new to me too and I can see them being very handy since I usually have 40+ layers when designing! Better than scrolling and scrolling to get to the top or bottom!
