Last two days of our Blog Train and Christmas in July sale in the shop!
Today I have a little sneak peek of what I'm working on for a new project in a new Follow Me series. Last fall I led an ABC album and the year before that I did Breathings of My Heart. This year I want to do something a little different. I haven't come up with a name yet, but my idea is to document a year in a child's life as seen through the eyes of a child.
Miss Bailey had such an incredible year as a five year old and did so many firsts I think she put a lifetime of firsts in that year. First day of school, first helicopter ride that was her first trip to fly over the Grand Canyon, she bungie jumped and bungie corded, first garden, first real art set all her own, first quilt all her own, first best friend… this list could go on and on. So I want to do a book for her called A Year of Bailey or When I was Five or something like that! lol Like I said, still working out all the details. It will include all her favorites at the time and lots of mini stories as told through her words.
Some of you know, that I promote and teach young children to do daily journaling. When they are very young and just learning I start them with a prompt. "What color do you feel today?" It gets them going and sometimes it's short and sweet and sometimes they are writing a book. lol This template is one that I plan on using for selective days picked from that year in Miss Bailey's life. It was actually a rare blue day. When she expressed why she felt blue and sad, I turned and asked her what she felt happy about that she did today. Loved her responses. She was still blue… but she saw the happy too. When her and I were putting this template together, she wanted little boxes that looked like her art paint set with colors. They make her happy she said and wanted happy thoughts about her blue mood missing Kara this day. That's how the spark was ignited! What a great base for this book template! Still working out the details, but watch for this coming soon.
With this template you can leave the "paint boxes" as is, you can put text in each as a list, or you can use as a mask over your photos like I did here. The text around the frame is editable in a text path. I plan to have all the color names, but you can find a free paint brush font to create your own too.
Let me know your thoughts about this idea and even maybe what you'd like to see in a series like this if you like. I'm always open for suggestions and ideas. :)
So here's your free template for today PaintedT3
And my Miss Bailey's Blue page.
Sorry Scarlet! I did see your request, and I will have to try and figure out the best way to make this a png quick page or resort to breaking out as a mini kit! It's created to be interactive layers and text, so will take some extra work to convert. I know you love your program, but you should know it's very limiting also. Maybe it's time to take the plunge and get a real graphics program like Photoshop or Elements? :)
You did make a comment and I answered you too, but it was on Evolution of a Page - Painted Template 1

Your Christmas in July freebies have been fabulous! Thanks for sharing them. I especially like your paint boxes. What a great idea! Unfortunately it didn't open in layers in PSP for me so I can't really use the template. But the idea is wonderful.
